This observatory is developed through the Technical Working Group (TWG)—a cross-sector body led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and co-led by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), in partnership with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). Bringing together senior government representatives, donors, UN agencies, humanitarian organisations, and academia. The TWG shapes technical direction, validates outputs, and ensures alignment with responsible AI governance and ethical safeguards, while actively curating the content featured on this observatory.
This is a collaboration is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar Fund for Development and the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office to advance ethical AI practices in humanitarian contexts across the MENA region. The initiative is led by Qatar University with contributions from HBKU, MOPH, Qatar Charity, Qatar Red Crescent, Education Above All, WHO, OCHA, UNESCO, QCRI, QRDI, and Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar.
